Installing Hebrew OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 on
 Fedora Core 5

 Summary

• On Fedora Core 5, the Hebrew OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 should be installed in place of the Fedora Core native version of OpenOffice.org
• Hebrew OpenOffice.org-2.0.3 requires installation of libstdc++.so.5

 Detailed Instructions

1. Uninstall RPM Installed OpenOffice.org
   • Use yum or rpm programs to remove other OpenOffice.org installations
   • Ensure you do not have OpenOffice.org menu entries in Applications->Office menus
2. (Optional) Install Java Runtime Environment
3. Install libstdc++.so.5.
   • Install compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-55.fc5.i386.rpm package. The package can be found on Fedora Core 5 CD3, in Fedora/RPMS/ directory.
4. Unpack the Hebrew OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 Installation Archive
   • Select location for installation files
   • Copy "OOo_2.0.3_he_install_linux_rpm_20061001.tar.gz" file to the location
   • From terminal command line prompt, as user "root", change the current directory to selected location. Run the following command:
     "tar xzf OOo_2.0.3_he_install_linux_rpm_20061001.tar.gz"
   • "he/RPMS" directory should be created
5. Install the Software.
   • From terminal command line prompt, as user "root", change the current directory to "he/RPMS". Run the following command:
     "rpm -ivh *.rpm desktop-integration/openoffice.org-redhat-menus-2.0.3-7.noarch.rpm"
   • You will need to log out from your X session and log in again, for Applications menu changes to take effect.
6. Run the software as regular user.
   • Use OpenOffice.org menu entries from the Applications->Office menu
